Nuix

How Does Nuix Work?
- Allows the user increased simplicity to Index virtually any "data container", whether it is an email server (Microsoft, Lotus Notes, Novell etc), a hard disk or a forensic image of a hard disk, or documents on a file share.
- Instantly identifies every person associated with an evidence item (who sent it into a company, who sent it around the organisation and who sent it out)
- Decodes Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic and Cyrillic text correctly into Unicode
- Directly interrogates all datasets and does not rely on data-conversion tools or MAPI to "see" data. MAPI is designed to retrieve active data, but not deleted data. However, Nuix employs its own processes and consequently retrieves permanently deleted emails from PST/OST and EDB/STM files
- Works at the binary level to help access deleted and altered emails from mailboxes
- Supports a very large and growing range of data types and certainly everything in common use today around the world
- Tested to terabytes of data
- Will identify hidden images, even a picture shrunk to 1 x 1 pixels, irrespective of the size of the office document.
- Will extract and make searchable items which might be 100+ levels deep - for example, an image in a document embedded in a word file, which itself is embedded in another file (100+ times) which is in a PST file, which has been exported, zipped and emailed. Nothing will get past Nuix.
- Diagrammatically shows the social and business networks of parties of interest
- Enables collaboration between multiple investigators on a single case
- Audits all investigator activities on a case and find previous searches undertaken
- Allows multiple investigators to collaborate on a single case
- Search results are instantaneous
- By far the most user-friendly advanced searching tool, Nuix is designed to be used by anybody, with intuitive user interfaces and simple graphical results
- Investigates Chinese, Korean, Arabic, Cyrillic and Japanese text to the same level of completeness as English, with the exception of English language stemming.
- Identification of unauthorised document or email leakage can be completed in 30 seconds and leaked intellectual property in three seconds.
- Identification of pornography and everybody associated with such an image can be done within a few seconds.
- Extensive, easily referenced Help menu functionality, including a video, and quick-find examples of how to undertake more complex searches. As well, formal training is available via WebEx and face-to-face.
- Enables collaboration between multiple investigators on a single case

The indexing of a data set would typically occur with Nuix Forensic Desktop or Nuix Legal Desktop. Nuix ARX gives the organsation a cost-effective way to empower more analysts to complete more of the investigation more quickly and accurately, including report writing and evidence submission.
Nuix - Reviewer
Nuix Reviewer
Nuix Reviewer extends the number of users who can access an index or case, enabling cases to be managed more quickly and accurately. Nuix Reviewer works as a server based review tool. Once a case is placed ‘under the control' of the Nuix Reviewer Server, multiple people can access the case information at the same time, enabling them to concurrently undertake their own analysis, review, discovery or investigations. The two most common user groups for Nuix Reviewer licenses are:
- Law firms and consulting groups who need to investigate large numbers of documents quickly (often called First Pass Reviews)
- Investigation groups who use Nuix Forensic Desktop to create case indices, and want every investigator to have a Reviewer licence to undertake their own analysis work
